  I have been going to Billy's Beef for several years and have never been disappointed. You are always greeted as soon as you enter and the food is prepared promptly with just a slight wait for the finished product. The food never tastes like it has been sitting on a steam table for hours but always tastes freshly prepared and is always served warm. For a quick Chicago style dog or an excellent Italian beef sandwich, you can't go wrong here.

  Always good food - typical got dog joint with some interesting extras. Check their specials: they usually have something interesting. Also, their dogs and their Maxwell Street polish are authentic Chicago-style and awesome.

  I'm not one to write negative reviews but I had to share my horrendous experience. We ordered at 10am well in advance to have our food prepared for lunch as there was 6 of us. 4 of us ordered italian beefs, one a chicken sandwich, and one a gyro. I arrive at noon to pick it up and the food wasn't ready or even started. He says "Your order isn't for until 12:30.....*looks at receipt* oh...... and starts to make the order. We finally get the order and upon looking at our meal, of the Italian Beefs, each person had ordered it a different way. These people decided to ignore the order and gave everyone a Italian Beef with cheese when only one ordered it that way. I'm not picky with food but c'mon now. Do your job right. They by accident replaced a italian beef with another gyro sandwich, and the fries we ordered were way overdone. The italian beef sandwich minus it being made incorrectly was good which is the only reason this post is a 2 star instead of a 1 star. Their service however, is BY FAR THE WORST I have ever experienced IN MY LIFE.
